October 9, 2019

Welcome to 2nd week of October, 2019.

Thank you to Jeff Crouser and his wife for last week's informative and patriotic presentation. It was suggested that Colonial Rotary might be able to assist in their honorable flag retirement ceremony, if that's the right term. Options are being explored. Bring your thoughts to a member of the Colonial Rotary Board.

Thanks to our members who helped clean up the clubs little section of Littlecreek Road Monday afternoon. Interact president, Brandon Cook was able to join us as we gathered 15 bags of trash.

For Your Calendar: December 6th we will be hosting District 7630 Governor, Bill Ferguson to our weekly meeting. I ask that all Colonial members plan to attend.

Welcome "Chas" Barker the newest member of the Colonial Rotary Club Family of 20-percenters.

Still a lot of Shakin' Goin' On this month:

  • Tomorrow, Oct. 12 is Super Senator Day at Dover High. We will be working with the Interact Club members and their advisor, Mr. Bailey to man the Rotary/Interact display table in the DHS Gymn from load-in at 8:30AM to conclusion and load-out at 2PM. Volunteers needed please sign up with Ben Parrish.
  • Sunday, Oct. 13 will be the first of what I hope will be many Colonial Rotary Social events. Festivities begin at 2PM at Harvest Ridge Winery near MaryDel. Please register your attendance with Mel or Lois.
  • Wednesday Oct. 16 will be our Rotary Orientation dinner - presentation. An introduction to the culture of Rotary and our guiding principal of Service Above Self. Dinner will be served at no cost to new Colonial Rotary members, Interact students and DHS Advisor. Other attendees are asked to purchase their own meal. Bring your computer and be sure it's all charged up as well.

Yours In Rotary Service,

Alex Vaughan, President
