Welcome to last week of October, 2019.
What, did you go to Maple Dale last week? 48% of our members missed the party last week… the annual visit to Robbin’s Hose #1 (aka the Dover Fire Department). Thank you to Bill Torbert for making all the arrangements for that visit. Colonial Rotary made our annual donation ($600 this year), BUT we also donated Dr. Gilbert’s Fellowship and our 50/50 drawing funds to them, bringing the total to $1,200.00. Almost 1/3 of the additional funds were raised thanks to a $200 matching donation from Colonial 20%er, Bill Hare. The leftover food was also donated to the Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing.
Our program presenter this week is Chris Foard from Bayhealth.
Dictionary Project Update: Colonial project manager, Jean Dowding, passed along that we will be delivering dictionaries to all the 3rd graders in the Capital School District on Wednesday, 11/6 – Please be at your school by 8:45 so you can check in and begin presentations at 9:00AM. Jean has all the details.
Sign up now for our annual Colonial Rotary, Salvation Army service project. Early birds get the best service times. Bell Ringing is scheduled for the week of December 9th from 6 to 9 PM each day in front of the Route 8 Redner’s Market. The Sign-up sheet is at the check-in desk and will be circulated at the meetings.
There will be no meeting on November 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Please plan not to attend.
