Our Special Guest Will Be David Carey, Dover Fire Company, Chief. The department, originally the Robbins Hose Company, was founded in 1882 and has relied on volunteers ever since. Dover is unique as the only U.S. state capital with an entirely volunteer fire department.
Due to declining volunteer numbers and rising calls, the department is exploring adding paid firefighters to improve response capabilities. Chief Carey will fill us in on the status of possibility, and will accept our club’s annual donation!
